On this date, March 23, 2005, the reality tv show "Chasing Farrah" premiered on the TV Land network. There were seven episodes in total and was cancelled after the first year. 

On this day, March 21, 1976, the Charlie's Angels TV show (pilot) aired for the first time.

This 72-minute pilot film aired as a "movie-of-the-week" and stars the original cast members; Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson), Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett-Majors), and Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith). Also appearing in the pilot episode are David Doyle (as John Bosley) and David Ogden Steirs (as the company lawyer Scott Woodville). Many of the scenes used in the opening credits of the tv series are from the original pilot film.

The guest cast in the pilot film consisted of familiar faces including Bo Hopkins, Diana Muldaur, and Tommy Lee Jones. John Llewellyn Moxey, a veteran of British horror films, directed the pilot film.
Filming began in July 1975. Due to the length of the program, the pilot has rarely been shown. A ratings powerhouse when it premiered on March 21, 1976 (got a 54.8 viewing share), Charlie's Angels resulted in the long-running (and frequently recast) weekly series, which aired from September 22, 1976, through August 19, 1981.

On this day, March 15, 1974, The Six Million Dollar Man episode "The Rescue of Athena One," with Farrah Fawcett, aired for the first time. 

Plot: Steve Austin is posted to NASA where he is tasked with training America's first woman astronaut – Major Kelly Woods (played by Farrah Fawcett). Despite initial problems, Major Woods completes her training and is launched into Earth orbit in Athena One with fellow Astronaut Osterman on a mission to discover new sources of energy. Shortly afterward, Athena One is rocked by an explosion that seriously injures Osterman. Fortunately, Major Woods is able to dock the crippled space capsule with the orbiting Skylab space station, where it is intended she will await the arrival of a rescue team and doctor. However, the explosion has jammed the capsule’s hatch, trapping Woods and Osterman inside.

Steve is launched into space alongside Flight Surgeon Wolf to treat and rescue the trapped astronauts. Upon docking with Skylab, Steve manages to force the trapped hatch open, giving Woods and the still-unconscious Osterman access to the space station. Flight Surgeon Wolf subsequently carries out a surgical procedure to remove shrapnel from Osterman. However, during a spacewalk to carry out repairs to Athena One, Steve’s bionics begin to malfunction due to the higher levels of radiation present. As a result, Major Woods has to command the Athena One Rescue capsule, containing all four astronauts inside, successfully back to Earth.

On this day, March 10, 1986, the movie "Between Two Women" was released. The film stars Colleen Dewhurst, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Nouri, and Jon Avnet.

This story focuses on the changing relationship between two women, a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, over a 14-year span. The first is a domineering, self-righteous, flamboyant former opera star who has alienated her son, a self-centered artist. His wife is a bright schoolteacher who has trouble dealing with either of them.

The film looks at the first meeting of the two women before the marriage and moves forward in time with the mother-in-law interfering in the couple's marriage to the point of causing a separation. However, 14 years after the initial meeting, the mother has a devastating stroke and it is the daughter-in-law who steps in to help her and strives to give her the courage to survive. The film is about the wasted time that exists with many human relationships.

​On this day, March 9, 1977, Francine Moran Hughes set fire to the bed in which her live-in ex-husband Mickey Hughes was sleeping in Dansville, Michigan. Mickey was killed and the house was destroyed in the resulting fire. At trial, Hughes was found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity in one of the first cases involving "battered-woman syndrome" as a defense.

Cultural Impact: Francine Hughes was the subject of a book titled The Burning Bed, which was the basis of a 1984 made-for-television movie with the same name, starring Farrah Fawcett.

Television critic Matt Zoller Seitz in his 2016 book co-written with Alan Sepinwall titled TV (The Book) named The Burning Bed as the 7th greatest American TV-movie of all time, writing that "The film was a landmark in terms of content, depicting domestic violence as an unambiguous horror and a human rights violation." Seitz also praised the performance of Fawcett as "one of the finest in the history of TV-movies."
